About this journal
Aims Advances in Molecular Mechanobiology and Signal Transduction (AMMST) is dedicated to the rapid dissemination of high-quality, rigorously peer-reviewed research that illuminates the fundamental principles governing how mechanical forces at the cellular and subcellular level are sensed, transduced into biochemical signals, and subsequently influence a wide spectrum of biological processes. We aim to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and advance our understanding of the intricate interplay between mechanics and molecular signaling, from basic research through to translational applications in health and disease. AMMST seeks to become a leading platform for researchers exploring the dynamic mechanical environment of cells and its profound impact on cellular function, development, immunity, and pathology. Scope AMMST welcomes original research articles, reviews, and commentaries that significantly contribute to the field of molecular mechanobiology and signal transduction. Our scope encompasses, but is not limited to: • Mechanosensing mechanisms in living cells and tissues • The role of cytoskeleton and extracellular matrix in signal transduction • Molecular pathways linking mechanical stress to gene expression and epigenetic modifications • Mechanotransduction in cellular processes such as migration, proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis • Biophysical principles of cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions • The application of microfluidics, atomic force microscopy, and other biophysical tools to study mechanobiology • Mechanics-driven signaling in development and tissue engineering • Mechanobiology of disease, including cancer, fibrosis, cardiovascular disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases • Integration of mechanical and biochemical signaling networks • Computational modeling and theoretical approaches in mechanobiology Article Types • Original Research Articles • Review Articles • Mini-Reviews • Perspectives • Methodology Articles • Commentaries Audience AMMST serves a diverse international audience of researchers, clinicians, and students in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology, physiology, bioengineering, developmental biology, and related disciplines.
