This paper looks into the current landscape of external funding opportunities available to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the UK. With a focus on both traditional and alternative financing methods, the study explores the accessibility, eligibility criteria, and potential impact of various funding schemes on SME growth and sustainability. It further identifies prevalent challenges faced by SMEs in securing external funding and proposes strategic recommendations for policy-makers and business owners to enhance funding acquisition.
