About this journal
Aims Advances in Urban Informatics and Cyber-Physical Systems (AUICPS) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing the theoretical and applied understanding of the complex interactions between urban environments, computational systems, and human activities. Our primary objective is to foster interdisciplinary research that bridges the gap between the theoretical underpinnings of urban informatics and the practical development and deployment of cyber-physical systems (CPS) within cities. AUICPS seeks to become the leading venue for disseminating cutting-edge research on the algorithmic foundations, data architectures, and systems engineering principles necessary to design, manage, and optimize the smart cities of the future. We aim to promote rigorous methodologies, reproducible research, and innovative solutions that address pressing urban challenges, from sustainable resource management and efficient mobility to enhanced public safety and citizen engagement. Scope AUICPS covers a broad spectrum of topics related to the design, implementation, and analysis of urban informatics and cyber-physical systems. Key areas of interest include: • Algorithmic foundations for urban data analytics and decision-making • Data architectures, management, and governance for large-scale urban sensor networks • Intelligent sensing, actuation, and control for urban services • Modeling, simulation, and digital twins of urban environments • Cyber-physical systems for smart mobility and transportation • Applications of AI and machine learning in urban infrastructure management • Security, privacy, and trust in urban cyber-physical systems • Human-computer interaction and social aspects of urban informatics • Energy efficiency and sustainability in smart urban systems • Resilience and robustness of urban cyber-physical infrastructure Article Types • Original Research Articles • Review Articles • Short Communications • Technical Notes • Case Studies • Commentaries Audience AUICPS is intended for researchers, engineers, policymakers, and practitioners working in computer science, electrical engineering, urban planning, civil engineering, data science, and related fields. The journal will serve academics in universities and research institutions, as well as professionals in government, industry, and non-profit organizations focused on the development and application of smart city technologies.
