About this journal

The International Journal of Engineering and Environmental Sciences (IJEES) is dedicated to advancing the interdisciplinary understanding and innovative application of engineering principles and environmental science for sustainable development. The journal publishes high-impact research that addresses critical global challenges at the nexus of technology and the natural world. IJEES encompasses a broad spectrum of topics within engineering and environmental sciences. This includes, but is not limited to, environmental monitoring and assessment, pollution control and abatement technologies (air, water, soil), waste management (solid, hazardous, wastewater treatment), ecological and human health risk assessment, and sustainable resource management. We particularly welcome contributions on environmental systems modeling, remote sensing applications in environmental geoscience, climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, and the development of eco-friendly innovations. Further areas of interest include the biogeochemistry of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, environmental policy analysis, and the application of engineering solutions to enhance environmental quality and resource efficiency. The journal invites submissions of original research articles, comprehensive review articles, technical notes, and case studies that present novel findings, methodologies, or significant applications. Contributions should demonstrate rigorous scientific inquiry, sound engineering principles, and clear implications for environmental sustainability. Our target audience comprises researchers, academics, engineers, environmental scientists, policymakers, and practitioners engaged in fundamental and applied research across these interconnected fields. Through scholarly discourse and dissemination, IJEES is committed to fostering scientific excellence and informing effective solutions for a more sustainable future.

Before you submit

• Manuscripts must be original, unpublished work not under consideration elsewhere.
• All authors must approve the submitted version and agree to the ICMJE authorship criteria.
• Declare all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and any AI assistance used.
• Ensure ethics approval and informed consent are stated where human or animal subjects are involved.

Manuscript structure

1. Title page (title, all authors with affiliations, corresponding author, ORCID iDs)
2. Abstract (structured where appropriate) and 3–8 keywords
3. Main text: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion
4. References in a consistent style; DOIs where available
5. Tables and figures supplied as separate, high-resolution files

Peer review

International Journal of Engineering and Environmental Sciences uses double-blind peer review. At least two independent reviewers assess each manuscript.

Licensing and fees

Articles are published open access under CC BY 4.0. The article processing charge is USD 400; waivers are available for authors from low-income countries.
