About this journal
Aims The International Journal of RNA Biology and Transcriptomic Systems (IJRBTS) aims to provide a premier interdisciplinary forum for the dissemination of high-quality research concerning the intricate landscape of ribonucleic acids and their systemic interactions. As the biological understanding of RNA has evolved from a simple intermediary in the central dogma to a sophisticated regulator of gene expression and cellular architecture, IJRBTS seeks to capture the full breadth of this revolution. The journal is dedicated to fostering communication between molecular biologists, computational scientists, and clinical researchers to accelerate the discovery of RNA-driven mechanisms in health and disease. By prioritizing both fundamental mechanistic studies and large-scale transcriptomic analyses, the journal aims to bridge the gap between bench-side molecular biology and data-driven systems biology, synthesizing diverse perspectives into a cohesive understanding of the RNA world.Scope IJRBTS publishes original research that advances the frontier of RNA science. We are particularly interested in studies that integrate high-throughput sequencing technologies with functional validation to elucidate the regulatory networks governing cellular homeostasis. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to: • Functional characterization of non-coding RNA species, including microRNAs, lncRNAs, and circular RNAs. • Mechanistic insights into RNA processing, including alternative splicing, polyadenylation, and nucleocytoplasmic transport. • Advances in epitranscriptomics, focusing on the biological impact of RNA chemical modifications such as m6A and pseudouridylation. • Application of single-cell and spatial transcriptomic technologies to map cellular heterogeneity and developmental lineages. • RNA-protein interaction networks and the structural assembly of ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes. • Therapeutic RNA technologies, including the development of mRNA vaccines, antisense oligonucleotides, and RNAi-based drugs. • Computational biology approaches for RNA secondary structure prediction and transcriptome-wide assembly. • The role of RNA dysregulation in complex diseases such as oncology, neurodegeneration, and metabolic disorders. Article Types To accommodate various stages of scientific inquiry and promote rapid dissemination of knowledge, IJRBTS accepts the following formats: • Original Research Articles: Comprehensive studies presenting significant new experimental or theoretical findings. • Review Articles: Critical syntheses of current literature and future directions in specific sub-fields of RNA biology. • Methodological Reports: Detailed descriptions of innovative experimental or computational techniques in transcriptomics. • Short Communications: Rapid reports of high-impact preliminary results or novel observations. • Data Notes: Brief descriptions of large-scale, high-quality transcriptomic datasets available for community reuse. • Perspectives: Expert opinion pieces on emerging trends or provocative hypotheses in RNA systems biology. Audience The journal serves a global community of researchers spanning academia, industry, and clinical practice. This includes molecular and cellular biologists investigating RNA function; bioinformaticians developing tools for transcriptomic data analysis; pharmaceutical scientists designing next-generation RNA-based therapeutics; and medical geneticists exploring the regulatory architecture of the human genome. IJRBTS is committed to an open-access model to ensure that the latest breakthroughs in RNA systems biology are accessible to researchers worldwide, fostering a truly inclusive and collaborative scientific dialogue.
