About this journal
Aims Reviews of Cultural Heritage and Literary Criticism (RCHLC) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to providing comprehensive, critical reviews of contemporary scholarship at the intersection of cultural heritage and literary criticism. The journal aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, promote methodological innovation, and foreground perspectives on gender equity within literary and heritage studies. By publishing rigorous assessments of emerging and established research, RCHLC seeks to serve as a central resource for scholars, practitioners, and students who wish to stay informed of key developments, debates, and gaps in the field. Scope The journal covers a wide range of topics within the arts and humanities, with emphasis on the critical evaluation of scholarship rather than primary research. Specific topical areas include, but are not limited to: • Theories and practices of cultural heritage conservation and management • Literary criticism methodologies across genres (prose, poetry, drama) • Gender equity and feminist critiques in literature and heritage contexts • Intersectional approaches to literary and cultural analysis • Memory studies, postcolonial criticism, and decolonizing heritage • Digital humanities and new media in literary and heritage scholarship • Prose fiction and non-fiction: narrative theory and critique • Poetics, prosody, and contemporary poetry criticism • Comparative and world literature perspectives • Public humanities and community-engaged heritage research Article Types RCHLC accepts the following types of contributions: • Critical review articles (synthetic assessments of a body of scholarship) • Review essays (in-depth analysis of one or more recent works) • Book reviews (concise evaluations of single monographs) • Interviews with leading scholars in the field • Editorials and commentaries on emerging trends • Special issue proposals (guest-edited collections on a focused theme) Audience The journal is intended for academic researchers and educators in literary studies, cultural heritage, gender studies, and related humanities disciplines; graduate students seeking comprehensive overviews; museum and heritage professionals interested in critical scholarship; and librarians curating collections in the arts and humanities.
