About
Aims Advances in Biomimetic Materials and Tissue Engineering (ABMTE) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to publishing transformative research at the confluence of materials science, molecular biology, and clinical regenerative medicine. The primary aim of ABMTE is to provide an international platform for the dissemination of fundamental and applied studies that leverage nature-inspired design principles to solve complex medical challenges. We prioritize research that explores how hierarchical structures found in biological systems can be replicated or adapted in synthetic environments to direct cellular behavior, facilitate tissue repair, and restore physiological function. By bridging the gap between benchtop polymer chemistry and bedside clinical application, ABMTE seeks to accelerate the development of biocompatible technologies that exhibit superior mechanical and biological integration.Scope The journal covers a broad spectrum of research involving the synthesis, characterization, and implementation of bio-inspired materials. We invite submissions on topics including, but not limited to: • Bio-inspired polymers and synthetic macromolecular assemblies for biomedical use. • Advanced synthetic scaffolds for bone, cartilage, vascular, and neural tissue engineering. • Design and application of stimuli-responsive 'smart' biomaterials for targeted signaling. • High-resolution 3D bioprinting and the development of functional bio-inks. • Nanostructured surfaces and topography-mediated control of the cell-material interface. • Organ-on-a-chip systems and hybrid bio-synthetic models for drug discovery. • Mechanobiology and the structural characterization of soft tissue mimics. • Kinetics of biodegradation and the metabolic integration of implanted materials. Article Types To ensure a comprehensive dialogue across the scientific community, ABMTE accepts the following manuscript formats: • Original Research Articles: Reports of novel, high-impact experimental or theoretical findings. • Review Articles: Critical evaluations of current literature and future perspectives in the field. • Short Communications: Rapid publication of significant preliminary data or breakthrough methods. • Technical Notes: Detailed descriptions of new methodologies, software, or characterization tools. • Perspective Pieces: Expert commentary on emerging trends and ethical considerations in bioengineering. Audience ABMTE is designed for a global audience of materials scientists, polymer chemists, biomedical engineers, and cell biologists. The journal also serves as a vital resource for clinical researchers, pharmacologists, and industrial developers focused on the commercialization of regenerative therapies and prosthetic devices.
