About this journal

Advances in Biomimetic Materials and Tissue Engineering is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of bio-inspired materials and engineered constructs for regenerative medicine and biomedical engineering. The journal serves as a premier platform for disseminating cutting-edge research that bridges fundamental principles of biology, materials science, and engineering to develop functional substitutes for damaged or diseased tissues and organs. We welcome contributions that explore the translation of natural biological structures and processes into synthetic or semi-synthetic systems, with a strong emphasis on clinical relevance and scalability. Scope topics include, but are not limited to: biomimetic scaffolds and hydrogels, biofabrication and 3D bioprinting, cell–material interactions, controlled drug and growth factor delivery, mechanobiology and dynamic culture systems, vascularization strategies, organ-on-a-chip platforms, and in vivo models for tissue regeneration. The journal also covers advanced characterization techniques, computational modeling of biomimetic systems, and regulatory or ethical considerations in tissue engineering. By fostering collaboration among engineers, biologists, chemists, and clinicians, the journal aims to accelerate the development of next-generation therapeutic solutions that restore, maintain, or improve tissue function. We publish original research articles, comprehensive reviews, short communications, and perspective pieces that offer novel insights or significant advancements in the field. Emphasis is placed on studies that demonstrate clear scientific rigor, reproducibility, and potential for clinical translation. The journal also encourages submissions on emerging technologies such as smart biomaterials, stimuli-responsive systems, and personalized tissue constructs. Through rapid and rigorous peer review, Advances in Biomimetic Materials and Tissue Engineering strives to be a leading resource for researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers committed to advancing regenerative medicine and biomimetic innovation.
