ABSTRACT
This research work explored the impact of tax revenue on economic growth in Nigeria. The Abia State Board of Internal Revenue in Nigeria as a whole was the study population and it covered from 2014 to 2018. Frequencies, Percentages, Tables, and Charts were used to present obtained data. The Ordinary Least Square method was employed in testing the statistical significance of the null hypothesis. After subjecting each hypothesis under test, findings revealed that CIT had no significant relationship with the total revenue in Nigeria, however, PPT had a significant positive relationship with total revenue. Hence, it was concluded that government should pay more attention to the petroleum sector so as to maintain this significant relationship as well as improve other sectors of the economy so as to ensure a steady flow of revenue. It was recommended that policies be developed to boost tax compliance in both the informal and formal sectors.
