Aims
Advances in Building Science and Technology (ABST) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing the interdisciplinary understanding of building physics and integrated building systems. Our primary aim is to bridge the gap between fundamental research and practical application in the built environment, facilitating the development of high-performance, sustainable, and human-centric buildings. We seek to publish research that addresses the complex interactions among building envelope, mechanical systems, indoor environmental quality, and occupant behavior. By fostering collaboration across engineering, architecture, and environmental science, ABST aims to accelerate the adoption of smart, resilient, and energy-efficient technologies.
Scope
ABST covers a broad spectrum of topics related to building science and technology. Our scope includes, but is not limited to:
• Building physics: heat, air, and moisture transport; building envelope performance; hygrothermal analysis
• Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems: advanced control, energy optimization, thermal comfort
• Lighting science: daylighting, electric lighting design, human visual and non-visual effects
